Dr. Gabriel Reina was born and raised in Southern California and earned his B.A. in History from Fresno State University, where he developed his interest in rural underserved medicine while volunteering for a FQHC in Sonora. Later Dr. Reina would earn his medical degree from UC Davis where he was a member of the Rural PRIME program that further gave him opportunities to work with the medically underserved including migrant farm worker populations. Dr. Reina was selected as chief resident in his final year of residency which he completed at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, and now comes to EDCHC as a National Health Service Corps Students to Service awardee eager to help the community by providing full spectrum, team-based care. In his free time, Dr. Reina enjoys spending time with family, backpacking, cycling, traveling, and playing with his dog.
